CC Resolution No. 2976 RESOLUTION 2976 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, ESTABLISHING THE 2025 BOND COMMITTEE; MAKING OTHER PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. ************************************************************************************* WHEREAS, the City of Baytown desires to issue bonds in the November 2025 General Election for the purpose of funding significant infrastructure projects to support our growing community; and WHEREAS,prior to the November 2025 General Election,the City Council of the City of Baytown desires to create a Bond Committee to assist the City in organizing, researching and preparing potential projects for consideration in the Election; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: The recitals contained in the preamble of this resolution are true and correct and are adopted as findings of the City Council of the City of Baytown. Section 2: The City of Baytown hereby establishes the 2025 Baytown Citizen Bond Advisory Committee(the"Committee")as follows: a. Created; composition. The Committee shall consist of fifteen(15) members. b. Purpose. The purpose of the Committee is to assist the City in organizing researching,and preparing the potential projects for consideration in the November 2025 General Bond Elections. C. Duties. The Committee shall receive input form diverse community groups within the City to better understand residents needs. The Committee shall recommend proposed projects to the City Council based on community input. d. Appointments. 1. Terms of Office. Members of the Committee shall be appointed by the City Council and shall serve until the conclusion of the November 2025 Bond Election. Due to the short-term nature of this Committee, members of the Committee are eligible to serve on two additional Council-appointed boards within the City. 2. Appointments. Each member of the City Council shall appoint two(2)district- specific members to the Committee. The Mayor shall appoint three (3) at- large members to the Committee. e. Meetings. The Committee shall select and name Co-Chairs and Subcommitee Chairs. Meetings of the Committee and Subcommittees shall be scheduled and established as determined by the Co-Chairs and Subcommittee Chairs. Section 3: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas.
