Ordinance No. 16,012 ORDINANCE NO. 16,012 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND AND NO 100 DOLLARS ($300,000.00) TO NOVUS WOOD GROUP, L.P., FOR THE ANNUAL WOOD GRINDING AND MATERIAL HANDLING SERVICES CONTRACT THROUGH A COOPERATIVE PURCHASING AGREEMENT WITH THE CITY OF PASADENA; MAKING OTHER PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. ************************************************************************************* WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Baytown has approved an Interlocal Agreement for cooperative purchasing with the City of Pasadena; and WHEREAS, pursuant to such agreement, the City may make purchases based upon the bids received by the City of Pasadena; and WHEREAS, the City of Pasadena has taken bids for the Annual Wood Grinding and Material Handling Services Contract;NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby authorizes the payment of THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND AND NO 100 DOLLARS ($300,000.00)to Novus Wood Group,L.P., for the Annual Wood Grinding and Material Handling Services Contract through a cooperative purchasing agreement with the City of Pasadena. Section 2: That pursuant to the provisions of Texas Local Government Code Annotated §252.048, the City Manager is hereby granted general authority to approve any change order involving a decrease or an increase in costs of FIFTY THOUSAND AND NO 100 DOLLARS ($50,000.00) or less, provided that the original contract price specified in Section I hereof may not be increased by more than twenty-five percent(250 o)or decreased by more than twenty-five percent(250 o)without the consent of the contractor to such decrease. Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
