PROVIDING R & B GROUP, INC. WITH A TOTAL OF ONE HUNDRED
FIFTY-EIGHT (158) EXTRA DAYS TO COMPLETE THE PROJECT AND
APPROVING AN INCREASE IN THE CONTRACT AMOUNT FOR THE
PROJECT IN THE AMOUNT OF NINETY-FIVE THOUSAND ONE
HUNDRED EIGHT AND 01:100 DOLLARS ($95,108.01); AND PROVIDING
FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council does hereby authorize Change Order No. 3 to the Baker
Road Lift Station Rehabilitation Project with R & B Group, Inc., providing R & B Group, Inc.
with a total of one hundred fifty-eight (158) extra days to complete the project and approving an
increase in the contract amount for the project in the amount of NINETY-FIVE THOUSAND
ONE HUNDRED EIGHT AND 01/100 DOLLARS ($95,108.01). A copy of said change order is
attached hereto, marked Exhibit "A" and made a part hereof for all intents and purposes.
Section 2: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the
City Council of the City of Baytown.

Explanation•
The following change order has been requested by R&B Group.Inc.for additional cost associated with the
revised design and construction of the gate operator access for the project.
This change was made after discussion with the City IT Group. The IT plan was to make gate access more secure
and uniform atoll City of Baytown SCADA!Lift Station networked infroxtructure facilities. llowever,the
specifications for the equipment required to impliment the improvements were not ready when this project,as
well as several other lift station projects,went to bid. This is why the change order is required at this point.
These changes will allow City IT staff to monitor access to these City facilities against unauthorized personnel.
In addition R&B is requesting additional time to complete the project. A delay from CenterPoint Energy
regarding the installation of commercial power at the facility has delayed progress on the project. The temporary
disconnect process was delayed by the May 2024 Derecho storm therefore hindering progress at the construction
site. R&B is asking for an additional 158 days for completion of the project. Both of these requests ure
justifiable and staff supports their approval.
