CC Resolution No. 2945 RESOLUTION NO. 2945 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, SUSPENDING ARTICLE 4 "TYPES OF MEETINGS"; SECTION 4.1 "REGULAR MEETINGS" OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN CITY COUNCIL RULES OF PROCEDURE AND CANCELING THE CITY COUNCIL MEETING SCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER 10, 2024; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. ************************************************,********************************* WHEREAS, The City of Baytown City Council Rules of Procedure Article 4 "Types of Meetings"; Section 4.1 "Regular Meetings"provides that, "unless otherwise established by the City Council, the Council shall hold its regular meetings in the Council Chamber of City Hall, 2401 Market Street, Baytown, Texas, beginning at 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursdays for the months of January through October"; and WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Baytown desires to cancel the Regular Meeting currently scheduled for October 10,2024; NOW,THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby suspends the City Council Rules of Procedure Article 4 "Types of Meetings"; Section 4.1 "Regular Meetings" and cancels the Regular Meeting currently scheduled for October 10,2024. Section 2: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown. I,City o ' APPROVED AS TO N , y -orney R:\Ordinances and Resolutions\Resolution Drafts\City Council\9-26-2024\Resolution.Canceling City Council Meeting.October 10th meeting.kh.docx RESOLUTION NO. 2946 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE, FOR THE EDWARD BYRNE MEMORIAL JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT ("JAG") PROGRAM, FY2024 LOCAL SOLICITATION ON BEHALF OF THE BAYTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWENTY-TWO THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED TWENTY-EIGHT AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($22,428.00); DESIGNATING AN AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE; ASSURING PROPER USE AND MAINTENANCE OF GRANT FUNDS;AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. ************************************************************************************* BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the U.S.Department of Justice,Bureau of Justice Assistance,for the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant ("JAG") Program, FY2024 Local Solicitation on behalf of the Baytown Police Department in an amount not to exceed TWENTY-TWO THOUSAND FOUR HUNDRED TWENTY- EIGHT AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($22,428.00). Section 2: That the City Manager is hereby designated as the authorized representative of the City of Baytown for all purposes under the grant,including the acceptance,affirmation,rejection,alteration, or termination of any grant award that may result from the above application. Section 3: That in the event of loss or misuse of the grant funds,the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby assures the U.S.Department of Justice,Bureau of Justice Assistance,that such grant funds will be returned to the Bureau of Justice Assistance in full. Section 4: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
