AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,
AUTHORIZING ADVERTISING FOR SALE AND SALE OF SURPLUS PROPERTY
LOCATED IN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT BUILDING LOCATED AT 3200 NORTH
MAIN STREET, BAYTOWN, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS; AUTHORIZING
ACCEPTANCE OF THE HIGHEST AND BEST BID MEETING; MAKING OTHER
PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE
DATE THEREOF.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown,Texas,hereby authorizes advertising
for sale and sale of the surplus property located at 3200 North Main Street,Baytown,Harris County,Texas,
more particularly described as the personal property located in the Police Department Building after moving
to the new Public Safety Building(the"Property").
Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Baytown,Texas, by prior actions,built a new
Public Safety Building on the same location as the old police department building. Construction for the
new building has concluded. City Employees started the move from the old police department to the new
Public Safety Building and anticipate that the move will be completed by May 10,2024. After the move is
complete, a considerable amount of personal property will remain in the old police department building,
including desks, chairs, cabinets,police equipment, office supplies, etc.,the Property.
Section 3: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby declares that the
personal property located inside the old police department building, after completion of the move to the
new building(the"Property"), is surplus.
Section 4: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, authorizes and directs the
Property to be sold to the highest and best bid. Advertising for bids were first placed in the local newspaper
on April 30, 2024, and will be advertised again on May 7, 2024. A pre-bid meeting,on location, will be
conducted May 13, 2024 for bidders to view all items available for bid. The City Council of the City of
Baytown, Texas authorizes lump sum bids, only. All items in the sale will be awarded to one bidder. The
opening of the bids will be conducted May 17,2024,at 10:00 a.m.,at City Hall. All awarded items shall be
removed from premises by the winning bidder by May 22,2024,at close of business.
Section 5: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City
Council of the City of Baytown.
