A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE AN APPLICATION TO THE
OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICE'S HOMELAND
SECURITY GRANT DIVISION, IN RESPONSE TO THE-FY2024 URBAN AREA
SECURITY INITIATIVE - REGULAR PROJECTS (UASI-R) SOLICITATION
CONCERNING GRANT#49015-02 ON BEHALF OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT FOR
EQUIPMENT FOR MEMBERS OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT'S FEMA TYPE I
REGIONAL HAZARDOUS MATERIALS,"HAZMAT TEAM",IN AN AMOUNT NOT
TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED FIFTY-ONE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED FIFTY
AND NO/100 DOLLARS (Si51,250.00) FOR THE PURCHASE OF A MASS
DECONTAMINATION SYSTEM AND RELATED EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, AND
ACCESSORIES;AUTHORIZING THE REPRESENTATIVE TO ACCEPT OR AFFIRM
ANY GRANT AWARD THAT MAY RESULT THEREFROM; AND PROVIDING FOR
THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to make an
application to the Office of the Governor, Public Safety Office's Homeland Security Grant Division, in
response to the FY2024 Urban Area Security Initiative-Regular Projects(UASI-R)solicitation concerning
Grant #49015-02 on behalf of the Fire Department for equipment for members of the Fire Department's
FEMA Type I Regional Hazardous Material Team, "HazMat Team", in an amount not to exceed ONE
HUNDRED FIFTY-ONE THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED FIFTY AND N01100 DOLLARS
($151,250.00) for the purchase of a mass decontamination system and related equipment, tools, and
accessories.
Section 2: That the City Manager is hereby designated as the authorized representative for all
purposes under the grant.
Section 3: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to accept or
affirm any grant award that may result from the above application.
Section 4: That the City of Baytown finds it in the best interest of the citizens of the City of
Baytown, that the FY2024 Urban Area Security Initiative—Regular Projects (UASI-R)be operated for the
2024 Fiscal Year.
Section 5: That no local match is required for this project.
Section 6: That in the event of loss or misuse of the grant funds, the City Council of the City
of Baytown hereby assures the Office of the Governor of the State of Texas that such grant funds will be
returned in frill.
Section 7: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City
Council of the City of Baytown.
