Ordinance No. 15,649ORDINANCE NO.15,649 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF AN ANNUAL ASSESSMENT TO THE HARRIS COUNTY APPRAISAL DISTRICT FOR APPRAISAL SERVICES FOR THE 2024 TAX YEAR IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED THREE HUNDRED FIFTY-ONE THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED SIXTY-SEVEN AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($351,767);MAKING OTHER PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO;AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. WHEREAS,each taxing unit participating in the Harris County Appraisal District (the "District") is assessed for a portion of the operations budget of the District in accordance with Section 6.06 of the Texas Tax Code;and WHEREAS,each taxing unit is obligated to pay its allocation in four equal payments with the first such payment being due before December 31,2023; and WHEREAS,the City of Baytown has been billed for its first quarterly payment in the amount of EIGHTY-SEVEN THOUSAND NINE HUNDRED FORTY-TWO AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($87,942.00);and WHEREAS,the City Council desires to authorize funding for all quarterly payments for tax year 2024 in a total amount not to exceed THREE HUNDRED FIFTY-ONE THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED SIXTY-SEVEN AND NO/lOO DOLLARS ($351,767);NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS: Section 1:That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby authorizes the total payment of an annual assessment to Harris County Appraisal District for appraisal services for the 2024 tax year in an amount not to exceed THREE HUNDRED FIFTY-ONE THOUSAND SEVEN HUNDRED SIXTY- SEVEN AND NO/lOO DOLLARS ($351,767). Section 2:This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
