AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACTS WITH VARIOUS PRODUCTION
COMPANIES FOR SOUND, LIGHTS, AND VIDEO BOARDS PERTAINING
TO FY24 PARKS AND RECREATION EVENTS AND PROGRAMS NOT TO
EXCEED THE APPROVED FY24 BUDGETED AMOUNT OF ONE HUNDRED
FORTY-ONE THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED SEVENTY-FIVE AND NOI100
($141,875.00); AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, hereby authorizes and
directs the City Manager to execute professional services contracts with various production
companies for sound, lights, and video boards for the FY24 Parks and Recreation Events and
Programs,including but not limited to, the Juneteenth Celebration,July 3`d and 4th, Grito Pre Party
and Festival, Party of the Peninsulas, Pop up Parks, Christmas Parade, Market at Town Square,
and others.
Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby authorizes the payment not to
exceed the approved FY24 budgeted amount of ONE HUNDRED FORTY-ONE THOUSAND
EIGHT HUNDRED SEVENTY-FIVE AND N0/100 ($141,875.00) to the various production
companies described in Section 1 for the professional services contracts negotiated by the City Manager.
Section 3: That pursuant to the provisions of Texas Local Government Code Annotated
§252.048, the City Manager is hereby granted general authority to approve any change order involving a
decrease or an increase in costs of FIFTY THOUSAND AND NO100 DOLLARS ($50,000.00) or less,
provided that the original contract price specified in Section 2 hereof may not be increased by more than
twenty-five percent(25°•u)or decreased by more than twenty-five percent(25%)without the consent of the
contractor to such decrease.
Section 4: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the
City Council of the City of Baytown.
