A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,
CREATING THE BAYTOWN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY
COMMITTEE; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, Rule 8.2 of the City Council of the City of Baytown, Texas, Rules of Procedure
authorizes the City Council to create committees, boards and commissions to assist in the conduct of the
operation of the City government; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to create a new committee to work with City economic
development staff to identify and review opportunities that will grow and enhance the quality of life for the
City of Baytown, including, but not limited to, reviewing Business Improvement Grants, and making
recommendations to the City Council; NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council hereby finds that all matters and facts set forth in the recitals
above are true and correct.
Section 2: That a new committee is created to be known as the Baytown Economic
Development Advisory Committee to assist in the conduct of the operation of the City government and
work with City economic development staff to identify and review opportunities that will grow and enhance
the quality of life for the City of Baytown, including, but not limited to, reviewing Business Improvement
Grants or other economic development projects of high-community interest, and making recommendations
to the City Council.
Section 3: That the Committee shall be composed of seven(7) members appointed by the City
Council who each shall serve a two (2)year staggered term.
Section 4: That the Committee shall include one (1) one person representing the real estate
industry, (1) person representing the finance/banking industry, one (1) person representing large business
development groups, one (1) person representing small business development groups, and three (3)
interested citizens who do not have a professional or personal affiliation similar to those represented by
other appointees, one of whom shall be a resident of the extraterritorial jurisdiction (ETJ) of the City of
Baytown.
Section 5: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City
Council of the City of Baytown.
