A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE BAYTOWN AREA
WATER AUTHORITY AWARDING THE BID FOR THE PURCHASE AND
REPLACEMENT OF HVAC UNITS AT THE BAYTOWN AREA WATER
AUTHORITY,LOCATED AT 7425 THOMPSON ROAD,BAYTOWN,TEXAS,TO
AMERICAN MECHANICAL SERVICES OF HOUSTON,LLC;AUTHORIZING
PAYMENT IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED SIXTY
THOUSAND AND NO/lOO DOLLARS ($160,000.00);MAKING OTHER
PROVISIONS RELATED THERETO;AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE
DATE THEREOF.
WHEREAS,the Baytown Area Water Authority advertised for bids for the purchase and
replacement of HVAC units at the Baytown Area Water Authority,located at 7425 Thompson Road,
Baytown,Texas,to be received on August 14,2023; and
WHEREAS,notice to bidders as to the time and place,when and where the bids would be publicly
opened and read aloud was published in accordance to the law; and
WHEREAS,all bids were opened and publicly read at the City of Baytown City Hall at 2:00 p.m.,
Monday,August 14,2023,as per published notice to bidders;NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE BAYTOWN AREA WATER
AUTHORITY:
Section 1:That,subject to the approval of the City Council of the City of Baytown,Texas,the
Board of Directors of the Baytown Area Water Authority hereby accepts the bid of American Mechanical
Services of Houston,LLC,for the purchase and replacement of HVAC units at the Baytown Area Water
Authority,located at 7425 Thompson Road,Baytown,Texas,in an amount not to exceed ONE HUNDRED
SIXTY THOUSAND AND NO/lOO DOLLARS ($160,000.00).
Section 2: That the General Manager is hereby granted general authority to approve any change
order involving a decrease or an increase in costs of FIFTY THOUSAND AND NO/lOO DOLLARS
($50,000.00)or less;provided that the original contract price may not be increased by more than twenty-
five percent (25%)or decreased by more than twenty-five percent (25%)without the consent of the
contractor to such decrease.
Section 3:This resolution shall lake effect immediately from and after its passage by the Board
of Directors of the Baytown Area Water Authority.
