Resolution No. 2856RESOLUTION NO.2856 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE U.S.DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE,BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE,FOR THE EDWARD BYRNE MEMORIAL JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT ("JAG")PROGRAM,FY2023 LOCAL SOLICITATION ON BEHALF OF THE BAYTOWN POLICE DEPARTMENT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWENTY-SIX THOUSAND EIGHTY-TWO AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($26,082.00);DESIGNATING AN AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE;ASSURING PROPER USE AND MAINTENANCE OF GRANT FUNDS;AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS; Section 1:That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the U.S.Department of Justice,Bureau of Justice Assistance,for the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant ("JAG")Program,FY2023 Local Solicitation on behalf of the Baytown Police Department in an amount not to exceed TWENTY-SIX THOUSAND EIGHTY-TWO AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($26,082.00). Section 2:That the City Manager is hereby designated as the authorized representative of the City of Baytown for all purposes under the grant,including the acceptance,affirmation,rejection,alteration, or termination of any grant award that may result from the above application. Section 3:That in the event of loss or misuse of the grant funds,the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby assures the U.S.Department of Justice,Bureau of Justice Assistance,that such grant fiinds will be returned to the Bureau of Justice Assistance in full. Section 4:This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
