AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS,
AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF TWO(2)FLEET VEHICLES FROM MONUMENT
CHEVROLET FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS AND ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT AND
THE PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT; AUTHORIZING PAYMENT TO
MONUMENT CHEVROLET IN THE AMOUNT OF ONE HUNDRED TWENTY-SEVEN
THOUSAND AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($127,000.00); MAKING OTHER PROVISIONS
RELATED THERETO; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.
WHEREAS, on November 17 and 24,2022, the City of Baytown advertised for bids For the purchase
of fleet vehicles; and
WHEREAS, notice to bidders as to the time and place,when and where the contract would be let was
published pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 252 of the Texas Local Government Code; and
WHEREAS, all bids were opened and publicly read at the Baytown City Hall on December 2, 2022,
as per published notice to bidders; and
WHEREAS, Caldwell County Chevrolet, Cameron County Dodge, Friendly Ford, Monument
Chevrolet,Rockdale County Ford, and Silsbee Ford each submitted a bid that reduces the price of vehicles for
sale by either a percentage or dollar amount off of the dealers'respective sticker prices; and
WHEREAS, on January 12, 2023, City Council approved Ordinance No. 15,332 authorizing the
purchase of multiple fleet vehicles from the aforementioned dealerships; and
WHEREAS, an additional ONE HUNDRED TWENTY-SEVEN THOUSAND AND NO/100
DOLLARS ($127,000.00) is needed to complete the purchase of authorized FY23 vehicles, which includes
two (2) fleet vehicles —one (1) for the Public Works and Engineering Department and one (1) for the Parks
and Recreation Department;NOW THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby authorizes the purchase of two(2)
fleet vehicles from Monument Chevrolet for the Public Works and Engineering Department and the Parks and
Recreation Department.
Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby authorizes payment in the amount
of ONE HUNDRED TWENTY-SEVEN THOUSAND AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($127,000.00) for the
purchase of said fleet vehicles.
Section 3: This ordinance shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City
Council of the City of Baytown.
