Resolution No. 2849 RESOLUTION NO. 2849 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION'S (USDOT) FY2023 SAFE STREETS AND ROADS FOR ALL (SS4A) PROGRAM, WHICH ALLOWS FOR FEDERAL FUNDING TO DEVELOP, COMPLETE, OR SUPPLEMENT A COMPREHENSIVE SAFETY ACTION PLAN IN THE AMOUNT OF FOUR HUNDRED THOUSAND AND NO1100 DOLLARS ($400,000.00) FOR DEVELOPMENT OF A SAFETY ACTION PLAN FOR THE CITY OF BAYTOWN; AUTHORIZING A LOCAL MATCH; DESIGNATING AN AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE; AUTHORIZING THE REPRESENTATIVE TO ACCEPT OR AFFIRM ANY GRANT AWARD THAT MAY RESULT THEREFROM; ASSURING PROPER USE AND MAINTENANCE OF GRANT FUNDS; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. �x:t:;c:k;etk�kkkk*kKk*�>k>k7kkkkkk****kkk***�*kyc:ackKkkkK��k���?Kkkkkkkk*�kkkk>Fl=�xk*>F:ratat BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to submit a grant application to the United States Department of Transportation's FY2023 Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) Grant Program, which provides federal funding to develop, complete or supplement a comprehensive safety action plan, in the amount of FOUR HUNDRED THOUSAND AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($400,000.00) for development of a safety action plan for the City of Baytown. Section 2: That the total estimated cost of this Project is FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($500,000.00). Section 3: That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby authorizes a total of ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND AND NO/100 DOLLARS (S100,000.00) as the required minimum 20% match. Section 4: That the City Manager is hereby designated as the authorized representative of the City of Baytown for all purposes under the grant, including the acceptance, affirmation, rejection, alteration, or termination of any grant award that may result from the above application. Section 5: That in the event of loss or misuse of the grant funds, the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby assures the USDOT that such grant funds will be returned to the USDOT in full. Section 6: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
