Resolution - Optimization Recognition ProgramA RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF THE BAYTOWN AREA WATER AUTHORITY
CONGRATULATING THE STAFF OF THE BAYTOWN AREA WATER AUTHORITY
FOR THEIR PARTICIPATION IN THE TEXAS OPTIMIZATION (TOP)
RECOGNITION PROGRAM; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE
THEREOF.

WHEREAS, the Baytown Area Water Authority (the "BAWA") is one of approximately five
hundred surface water treatment plants in the State of Texas; and
WHEREAS, the Texas Optimization Program (the "Program)" is a program of the Texas Natural
Resource Conservation Commission (the "TNRCC") which recognizes surface water treatment plants that
have met specific criteria; and
WHEREAS, on September 29, 1998, BAWA made application to the TNRCC for participation in
the Texas Optimization Program; and
WHEREAS, on May 4, 1999, BAWA received notification of its success in meeting the very
stringent goals of the Texas Optimization Program for the six-month period from November 1998 through
April 1999; and
WHEREAS, BAWA is the fourth plant in the State of Texas to be recognized as optimized; NOW
THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF THE BAYTOWN AREA WATER AUTHORITY:
Section 1: That the staff of the Baytown Area Water Authority are hereby congratulated for
their participation in the Texas Optimization (TOP) Recognition Program of the Texas Natural Resource
Conservation Commission and the success of the BAWA plant in achieving the goals of the Program.
Section 2: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the Board
of the Baytown Area Water Authority.
