Consider Plans and Specifications and Authorize Advertising for Bids for the BAWA
Plant Expansion Project Phase I
Fred Pack, Utilities Director for the City of Baytown, explained that Camp Dresser
& McKee Inc.(CDM) prepared the plans and specifications for BAWA Plant Expansion,
Phase I. Phase I addresses increasing plant capacity from the current rating of 13 mgd
to 26 mgd. Once completed the plant will produce 19 million gallons without everything
running. There is a 5% contingency of $342,000 for Phase I. The total is $7,187,000.
The design services total $894,457, leaving a grand total of the project of $8,081,457.
$7,982,943 is available for the project. Approximately $100,000 is not funded; but the
contingency of $342,000 is included. We will have two alternates which will include
effluent valve controllers and work on plant water for a total of $250,000. The alternates
are not essential to Phase I and can be deleted to keep the project within available
