A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,
TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OF THE CITY OF
BAYTOWN TO SUBMIT A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE UNITED
STATES DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (USDOT) REBUILDING
AMERICAN INFRASTRUCTURE WITH SUSTAINABILITY AND EQUITY
(RAISE) PROGRAM, WHICH ALLOWS STATE AND LOCAL
GOVERNMENTS TO OBTAIN FUNDING FOR MULTI-MODAL PROJECTS
WITH SIGNIFICANT LOCAL OR REGIONAL IMPACT, IN THE AMOUNT
OF TWENTY-FIVE MILLION AND NO1,'100 DOLLARS ($25,000,000.00) FOR
FUNDING IMPROVEMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH PHASE F OF THE
GARTH ROAD WIDENING PROJECT; AUTHORIZING A CASH MATCH;
DESIGNATING AN AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE; AUTHORIZING
THE REPRESENTATIVE TO ACCEPT OR AFFIRM ANY GRANT AWARD
THAT MAY RESULT THEREFROM; ASSURING PROPER USE AND
MAINTENANCE OF GRANT FUNDS; AND PROVIDING FOR THE
EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS:
Section 1: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to submit
a grant application to the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) Rebuilding
American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity(RAISE) Program, which allows state and
local governments to obtain funding for multi-modal projects with significant local or regional
impact, in the amount of TWENTY-FIVE MILLION AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($25,000,000.00)
for funding improvements associated with Phase F of the Garth Road Widening Project.
Section 2: That the total estimated cost of this Project is THIRTY-THREE MILLION
AND NO 100 DOLLARS ($33,000,000.00).
Section 3. That the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby authorizes a total of
FIVE MILLION AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($5,000,000.00) as the required minimum cash match
of 20% of the total construction costs, plus an additional THREE MILLION AND NO/100
DOLLARS ($3,000,000.00) to complete the Project.
Section 4: That the City Manager is hereby designated as the authorized representative
of the City of Baytown for all purposes under the grant, including the acceptance, affirmation,
rejection, alteration, or termination of any grant award that may result from the above application.
Section 5: That in the event of loss or misuse of the grant funds, the City Council of the
City of Baytown hereby assures the USDOT that such grant funds will be returned to the USDOT
in full.
Section 6: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the
City Council of the City of Baytown.
