CC Resolution No. 2826 RESOLUTION NO. 2826 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE APPLICATION TO THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY'S FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY (FEMA) FOR THE FY2022 ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT PROGRAM FOR THE EXPANSION OF THE BAYTOWN FIRE DEPARTMENT WELLNESS- FITNESS PROGRAM, WHICH IS MAINTAINED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE GUIDELINES OF THE FIRE SERVICE JOINT LABOR MANAGEMENT WELLNESS-FITNESS INITIATIVE (WFI), TO INCLUDE COMPREHENSIVE CANCER SCREENINGS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED FORTY-EIGHT THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED AND NOi 100 DOLLARS($148,200.00);AUTHORIZING A CASH MATCH IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED FOURTEEN THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED TWENTY AND NO100 DOLLARS ($14,820.00); DESIGNATING AN AUTHORIZED REPRESENTATIVE; AUTHORIZING THE REPRESENTATIVE TO ACCEPT OR AFFIRM ANY GRANT AWARD THAT MAY RESULT THEREFROM; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. ****************************************************************************** BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to make application to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for the FY2022 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program for the expansion of the Baytown Fire Department Wellness-Fitness program, which is maintained in accordance with the guidelines of the Fire Service Joint Labor Management Wellness-Fitness Initiative (WFI), to include comprehensive cancer screenings, in an amount not to exceed ONE HUNDRED FORTY- EIGHT THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED AND NO1100 DOLLARS ($148,200.00). Section 2: That pursuant to the terms of the grant referenced in Section 1 hereof,the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby authorizes a cash match in an amount not to exceed FOURTEEN THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED TWENTY AND NOS 100 DOLLARS ($14,820.00) as required by the grant application authorized in Section 1 hereinabove. Section 3: That the City Manager is hereby designated as the authorized representative for all purposes under the grant. Section 4: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to accept or affirm any grant award that may result from the above application. Section 5: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown.
