CC Resolution No. 2812RESOLUTION NO.2812 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS, AUTHORIZING SIGNATORY AUTHORITY FOR THE CITY MANAGER TO APPLY FOR AND ACCEPT FUNDING FOR CERTAIN STATE AND FEDERAL GRANTS;AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. ♦++++*4=******************************* WHEREAS, the City of Baytown, a Texas coastal community, has experienced severe and catastrophic flooding during multiple hurricanes; and WHEREAS, the City wishes to elevate residential homes that are susceptible to catastrophic flooding;and WHEREAS, certain state and federal grant application processes are available to share the cost of the elevating these homes; and WHEREAS, the grant application processes for these and other gi'ant opportunities require the City to designate a Subrecipient Authorized Representative to have the signatory authority to apply for and accept the grant documents;NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN,TEXAS: Section 1. The City of Baytown hereby authorizes the City Manager or his designee to: (a) perform all duties required by the Subrecipient Authorized Representatives (SAR);(b) apply for and sign Federal and State Grant Applications and related submittal documents through the FEMA Grants Outcome portal and byother means when necessary; (c) accept, negotiate, execute and sign required grant award documents and contracts when appropriate; and (d) manage and perform all duties required to successfully complete awarded grants. Section 2: This resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage by the City Council of the City of Baytown,Texas.
