CC Resolution No. 2299RESOLUTION NO. 2299 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE APPLICATION TO THE HOUSTON URBAN AREA SECURITY INITIATIVE (UASI) FOR THE FY2014 U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT PROGRAM (HSGP) ON BEHALF OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND PUBLIC SAFETY AGENCIES IN THE AMOUNT OF TWO HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($250,000.00) FOR EQUIPMENT TO SUPPORT A NEW SELF-SUPPORTING TOWER AT BEACH CITY TO EXPAND THE COVERAGE AND CAPACITY OF THE TXWARN P25 RADIO SYSTEM; AUTHORIZING A CASH MATCH IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND NO/100 DOLLARS ($100,000.00); AUTHORIZING THE REPRESENTATIVE TO ACCEPT OR AFFIRM ANY GRANT AWARD THAT MAY RESULT THEREFROM; AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE THEREOF. ************************************************************************************* BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BAYTOWN, TEXAS: Section 1: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to make application to the Houston Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) for the FY2014 U.S. Department of Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP) on behalf of the Police Department and public safety agencies in the amount of TWO HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($250,000.00) for equipment to support a new self-supporting tower at Beach City to expand the coverage and capacity of the TXWARN P25 Radio System. Section 2: That pursuant to the terms of the FY2014 U.S. Department of Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP), the City Council of the City of Baytown hereby authorizes a cash match in an amount not to exceed ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND AND NO/100 DOLLARS ($100,000.00). Section 3: That the City Manager is hereby designated as the authorized representative for all purposes under the grant. Section 4: That the City Manager of the City of Baytown is hereby authorized to accept or affirm any grant award that may result from the above application.
